Dengue and COVID-19 are both diseases that can cause fever.

Dengue is a disease that can cause a flu-like illness. It is caused by the dengue virus. The virus is spread by the bite of infected mosquitoes. You can reduce your risk of getting dengue by avoiding mosquito bites.

There are four similar viruses that cause dengue: DENV-1, 2, 3, and 4. They are part of the flavivirus family, which includes yellow fever, the West Nile and Zika viruses, and many others. DENV is short for dengue virus.

The World Health Organization estimates that 3.9 billion people are at risk of catching dengue, globally. That’s 50% of the world’s population.
